Luxury Vehicle Yes. All renters must be 25 years of age or older and must hold valid coverage insurance on an existing vehicle that is transferable to a rental vehicle. If your insurance policy is liability-only, it will need to be upgraded to full coverage at least 24 hours before your rental.

Please note that we currently do not offer any exceptions to this policy, except for holders of an AMEX Centurion or Platinum card with viable traveler insurance.

Damage deposits are held to cover any damage that occurs during your rental period. This means that any damage sustained by our vehicle will be deducted from your damage deposit, which you can later claim reimbursement for through your insurance agency.

We bill $300 per scuffed wheel (per wheel), $500 per damaged tire (if rubber has been removed from the sidewalls), $1,000 or more for major dings, scratches, or body damage.

It’s important to note that we have observed a direct correlation between the funds held and the treatment of our vehicles. We expect our vehicles to be treated with the same care and respect as if they were your own.

At Kenkey1 Car Rentals, we understand that renting vehicles can come with inherent risks. That’s why we strive to make the process as straightforward as possible for our customers.

Our damage deposits are set at a flat rate of $250. Upon returning the vehicle, you’ll receive your deposit back within 3 to 5 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Please be aware that in some cases, refund processing may take longer due to the policies of receiving banks. These security deposits are held for incidentals that may not be covered by insurance, such as windshield cracks, wheel scuffs, or door dents. We believe in transparency and want to ensure that our customers understand the purpose of these deposits. Remember, avoiding an increase in your insurance premium is ultimately more cost-effective than covering a small repair amount from your security deposit.

Kenkey1 Rentals welcomes international clients who possess either a major credit card with rental insurance coverage in the US or hold a valid, active US car insurance policy for a registered vehicle.
At Kenkey1 Rentals, it is mandatory for all renters to maintain active full coverage insurance throughout the entire rental period, including (Comprehensive, Collision, and Liability) coverage. Customers are required to utilize their existing insurance policy for their owned or leased vehicle when renting from us. Upon submission of insurance information, we promptly verify its authenticity with the respective insurance provider, ensuring a smooth rental process.

For renters without car insurance, purchasing Travelers Insurance is imperative to provide adequate coverage for their vehicle during the rental period. The primary insurance policy should include Comprehensive, Collision, and liability coverage for comprehensive protection.

Note: By ‘Insurance’ refers to full coverage driver insurance on one or more vehicles, encompassing (comprehensive, collision, and liability coverage).

The only exception to this requirement is for clients holding an AMEX Centurion or Platinum card, as these cards offer damage waivers for vehicles. Exercise caution when encountering companies offering insurance for purchase, as obtaining fleet insurance for such vehicles can be challenging. If presented with insurance for purchase, request a copy of their fleet insurance coverage for verification. In many cases, acquiring a new policy or upgrading an existing one is advisable to mitigate the risk of being held liable for damages exceeding the provided coverage.

If you receive a ticket or toll violation while using one of our vehicles, you are responsible for any associated costs, including towing fees, tolls, penalties, or administrative fees. Please ensure that you ALWAYS keep your rental contract with you in the vehicle. In the event of being pulled over, you will need to present this document to the police officer. Our team may not be available to provide it to you, especially during late hours.
So, you’ve rented your vehicle and you’ve decided it’s the perfect time to light up a nice cigarette, not so fast! Please don’t smoke in our rental cars. This means no cigarettes, cigars, joints, black & mild, or any other smoking stuff. We want to keep our cars clean and comfy for everyone, so smoking is a big no-no. This includes leaving any smoke smell, stains, or other mess behind. Since we switch cars a lot, it’s super important to keep them smoke-free. If we catch you smoking, we’ll have to take $150 from your deposit. Remember, our cars get rented out one after another, so please think about the next person who gets the car. Smoking in the car isn’t cool and goes against our rules.
Please be aware that all our vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking systems, allowing us to closely monitor their movements. We receive push notifications if a vehicle exceeds a certain speed limit. While we want you to enjoy our cars, it’s important to remember that this isn’t the fast and furious. While we won’t contact you for every instance of exceeding the speed limit, if we receive excessive notifications, we will reach out to you. Repeated reckless behavior or endangerment of yourself and the vehicle may result in termination of the rental agreement. Additionally, you will be held responsible for any mechanical damage to our vehicles resulting from abusive behaviors or street racing.
Kenkey1 Rentals reserves the right to pull your Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) at our own discretion before the beginning of your rental. We do not rent to clients who have a SUSPENDED license due to insurance and liability issues.
To rent a vehicle from our fleet, customers must possess valid driver’s licenses; probationary licenses or permits are not accepted. For economy vehicles, renters must be at least 23 years old (customers under 23years old require their own full coverage insurance). Luxury and sports vehicles are available to customers aged 23 and older.
